JOB SUMMARY:

Provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies. Practice will be in accordance with laws and regulations and will adhere to established policies, procedures and practice guidelines.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Deliver top quality care utilizing superior customer service skills
2. Collaborates with patient care team to provide accessible, comprehensive, coordinated, continuous care to panel of patients as appropriate to achieving quality outcomes;
3. Assesses patients and develop and implement age-appropriate treatment plans for patients using evidenced based clinical practice guidelines, standards of practice and current research and literature;
performs physical examinations, developmental, well exams and preventive care screening exams;
4. Performs common outpatient and office based procedures.
5. Performs interpretation of common diagnostic tests including EKG, X-ray films and labs
6. Meets competency based standards of practice according to certification and facility policy and procedures, code of conducts and board requirements;
7. Obtains comprehensive patient histories and physicals;
8. Orders and/or performs routine diagnostic procedures;
9. Identifies normal and abnormal findings on histories, physical examinations and commonly performed diagnostic studies;
10. Monitors effectiveness of therapeutic interventions;
11. Reviews assessment and plan of care and collaborate with physician in accordance with the federal, state, local laws and regulations;
12. Exercises prescriptive authority to prescribe according to federal, state and local laws and regulations;
13. Makes appropriate referrals to both physicians, specialists and community resources;
14. Collaborates with patient care team regarding patient care Performs documentation and prescriptive audits in accordance with the federal, state and local laws and regulations;
15. Administration of intravenous fluids;
16. Administration, monitoring or maintaining local anesthesia as defined by the federal, state and local laws;
17. Performs procedures as defined by discipline scope of practice and facility by-laws;
18. Provides patient education, coaching, counseling;
19. Participates in quality outcome initiatives and activities
20. Participates in practice efficiencies, fiscal responsibility, and practice initiatives;
21. Maintains all licensure and compliance laws and regulations according to federal, state, and local laws and
regulations;
22. Participates in professional development through participation in professional organizations, student 
preceptor, staff education, research and conferences, presentations, publishing and educational initiatives;
23. Exhibits professional and leadership style that promotes patient, peer and supervisory satisfaction;
24. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested to meet the goals and objectives of DeKalb.
25. Keeps current with chart documentation
26. Participates in supporting the organization’s vision, mission and values and adheres to DeKalb Medical Standards of Behavior.
27. Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of DeKalb Medical.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education, Experience and Licensure Required:
• Board certification or board eligible
• MD or DO degree
• Unrestricted GA MD/DO license 
• Graduate of an accredited school Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and eligible for a Georgia Medical license
